IIT BOMBAY'S CERTIFICATE COURSE ON PROCESS EQUIPMENT DESIGN (Online Version)
The Certificate Course on Piping Engineering, course designed by IIT Bombay in 1991 was the first formal training programme in this vital aspect of process plant engineering. The course has stood the test of time and has to its credit 70 editions of contact course batches, as many online course batches and about 10000 satisfied engineers. The success of the course is natural because piping engineering accounts for about 25% of project cost and 50% of engineering manhours in a typical project and needs a large cadre of trained engineers. Another major component of a project is Process Equipment. It typically accounts for 50% of project cost and 20% of engineering. In view of this, an online training programme on process equipment design on the lines of the online version of piping engineering course has been released recently.
